Confidentiality is key to building a a therapeutic relationship. Sometimes the thoughts and emotions expressed and explored within therapy might be challenging.

It is a requirement for counsellors and psychotherapists to present their work at clinical supervision, with qualified supervisors and professional colleagues, so work can be monitored and therapists can be supported. All information is presented anonymously, individuals are unidentifiable.

There are specific circumstances when confidentiality may be broken, and at these times I would endeavour to inform you of my intentions before taking information elsewhere. These pertain to immediate risk to Self or Other, Child Protection, Terrorism Offences, Drug Trafficking, and committing, or intent to commit, criminal offences.
