You may know why you want to start therapy, what you want to explore within yourself. You may have experienced bereavement, or be experiencing difficulty you need to work through in a safe and supportive environment.

Not everyone who starts therapy is experiencing emotional distress. The therapeutic relationship can be a relationship within which to explore emotions and behaviour patterns to better understand yourself.

The first session will be an assessment session. I will ask you questions in order to understand what you are hoping to gain from our working together, and you are welcome to ask me any questions you have in respect to us working together. The therapeutic relationship is an important and unique relationship. I believe the interpersonal connection between the therapist and client is where change really happens, and opportunity for growth and change is provided.

There is no obligation for you to attend sessions after the first assessment if you do not feel I am the right therapist for you. All assessment information will be treated confidentially, as with all information from here on in.
